Comments:

Didn't even know about this contest until Saturday afternoon.  It gave me the
opportunity to check out how my newer computer (a Dell Optiplex 755 dual-core,
XP software) performed compared to the single-core computer it replaced (a Dell
8400 single-core, also XP sw).  When running N1MM on the earlier computer my CPU
utilization ran at 40-60% with peaks close to 100%.  I was pleasantly surprised
to see 8-12% utilization with occasional peaks up to 18%!  I did not expect
such an improvement!
