Comments:
The objectives were:
1. Break own personal best record on this category (1.2Megs)
2. Break the 13 years old XE record of the category (XE1KK) 1.98Megs
The contest started just great at 0000z with a nice small run on 10M
and then S&P alternating on 15 and 20M. To my dismay, the twin slopper had
a super sensitivity to a 59+ noise on 40M thru 160M that rendered unusable
(just 2 Q’s).
The city has grown, and now to we are suffering the BPL internet service that
started
this year cropping with garbage our shortwaves.
I went to bed at 0642z (0142 local); started again a 1217 doing S&P,
albeit at a very slow pace, struggling for almost every contact.
1700z suddenly, most of the15M signals, vanished for 30 minutes, just really
big could be heard.
Conditions improved on 15M and 20M, and just when I was getting ready (2228z)
for the oncoming JA aperture on 15M and 10M, I received an emergency call to
go to work
to fix one of the key routers; darn!
Day1 ended with just 986 Q’s .
Got back in the shack 4 hours later, mainly doing S&P.
Started our Sunday morning (1217z) with promising good conditions,
although for moments on 15M,I had “signals right on my face” that they
could not copy me;
perhaps, too much absorption ?
The last2 hours were fun due to the runs had on the 3 upper bands.
At the end of the test, Objective # 1 was achieved, while the #2 objective,
got short by ~ 0.18 Megs.
