BAND GRIDS QSOS
33CM 2 24
23CM 2 16
Totals 40
19 inter-grid QSOs @ 6.26 points each (*) = 118.94 points (km) + 21 points
for 21 intra-grid QSOs = SCORE of 139.94 Points (~140)
The key to making lots of QSOs in Fall 2015’s 902 MHz & Up SPRINT was to
‘happen to attend the Pacific NW VHF Society’s Annual Conference’ which
was being held in Issaquah, WA (CN87xn)! Most conference attendees made their
QSOs by means of ALINCO UHF handhelds.
Grid locations of CN87xn & CN97an were extensively used by the
participants, so everyone made lots of very short distance QSOs worth either 6
points or 1 point due to use of ‘Microwave Distance Rules’ instead of
‘VHF/UHF Grid Rules’.
927.5 MHz FM Simplex was so busy that it sounded like an HF pileup seeking a
rare DX station.
