Comments:

I really enjoyed my annual venture onto phone despite the bullies, the wide
signals, splatterers and tuner uppers. Were I to be looking for a result in
this contest I would definitely go 'Assisted' as it is so frustrating when
doing S&P to identify dx stns through the noise, splatter and continuous
callers and then finally when hearing that target stn he says 'Thanks' and
doesn't identify. then when he finally does the baying mob cover him up!
S&P on ssb just leaves you with one big headache!

The good parts were sustained rates of 200, reaching 240 for a few minutes at
times, very exhilarating, until yet another poor big signal op decided he would
like some spin off from my callers, or my signal is not strong enough to give
him trouble, by parking up close and de-sensing my qrg so that I could no
longer hear weak signals and slowing my rate, I cannot count the number of
times I had to change my run qrg for that reason. Time was when I would battle
it out with the frequency stealers but not now, it could go on for minutes with
neither of us working anything, I just move and don't wait to get sand kicked in
my face.

Electrical storms were a problem in this part of the world the entire weekend,
annoying to close down at busy times on occaisions due to them but better to
retire and live and fight another day as they say.

I shall be back with more serious intent for the cw event next month..
