Comments:

We just sold our house in Northfield - after 8 years, the tower and stack of
beams came down last week. We moved to a temporary house in Lonsdale. I through
together a 20 meter dipole and got it up off the ground about 10 feet. The noise
level here is S7-9 (the first time I've live in town in 25 years) - much higher
than my sweet spot in Northfield. At this point, it looks like 20 meters is
going to be my only band until we get to a permanent spot. In addition, I
probably will not try to fire up the Acom 2000A until I figure out whether or
not I am causing any RFI in the neighborhood.

I was pleased that I could get a signal out and was heard with a dipole and 100
watts. Picked up UN, UA9, KH6, ZL, CN, a bunch of EU and South America. Good
enough for now - I will try to get the antenna up to 30 feet in the next couple
of weeks.
