Comments:

This was my first 0300Z session from the NC QTH, so I didn't know quite what to
expect. Started out trying to run on 40 meters, but after 4 agonizing minutes
still hadn't made a QSO. Switched to the second radio on 80 and immediately got
a run going. The first caller was M0RYB! The run took off immediately and the
rates were crazy good from there on. It's really fun to see the 10 minute rate
meter pushing and sometimes exceeding 200/hr. About 45 minutes in the rate
slowed slightly, so I tried to pick off a few QSOs on 40 on the other radio. But
things were just happening too fast on 80, so ended up with only 3 additional
QSOs, including HA8RM, who was very loud. Assuming conditions stay the same for
the next few days it looks like 80 may be a good band for me in Sweepstakes this
weekend. See everybody there and in the CWTs next week.
