The 8875 is also designed to be cooled differently from the 4cx400's as
well. It can not directly replace the 8875. It will fit the same tube
socket so if you want to modify the cooling and the wiring to meet the
spec on the 4cx400 I guess one could say it was a replacement. Many
folks are looking to replace the very expensive 8875 and recover the
cost of the amps like the MLA 2500 which uses them. I am courious if any
one has grounded both grids in the 4cx400 and tried driving it like a
triode?
