Tom,

Not having found one that has an rx that is much better than what I've
got, I tend to forget that the modern rigs are pretty awful! Of course,
you're right. I use a much modified FT102, with a 12BY7A driving  3 off
6146B; it's quite well behaved when you turn down the drive. The AB2
linear only needs about 70 watts of drive, too, so I don't have to
hammer the 6146B's.
