[AMPS] Measuring tube (and other) temperatures

 McMaster Carr has a nice selection of temperature measuring equipment.
A nice 1/8 DIN (92 x 45mm) temperature display for a type J thermocouple
will only set you back about $85.  Thermocouples themselves are about
$20-30.  They also have temperature sensitve paint, crayons etc.  You
can get fancy with other variations ... like scanning multiple
thermocouples etc.  If anyone has a need, I will be glad to help out.
