Pete,

Nothing wrong with a 3-500.  I have an amp now with one.  I guess
I want to do something a little different.  My goal is to produce
5-600 watts rather 1KW, and possibly to create a somewhat smaller
amp physically.  The 4CX400A is 2 inches in diameter and 2.6 inches
high.  A little smaller than a 3-500z!  I'm not so worried about cost
as I am about finishing up with something really nice and worth
bragging about (as we hams do in every contact we can!).
