My light dimmer says on the back of it "Caution- to avoid overheating
and possible damage to other equipment, do not install to control a
receptacle, a flourescent lighting fixture, a motor operated applience
or a transformer supplied appliance.
BTW I burned up a motor in a 177vac die-grinder using this thing. Maybe
you can get away with it using one on a cap. start type blower motor,
but mine has no cap start on it and am afraid to try the light dimmer
here.
