€  The only kind I know about are Class C.  //  To build a common-cathode 
/ grid-driven '''Linear'''  amplifier, one needs a triode operated in 
Class AB1.  In order to have enough peak anode-current with 0v on the 
grid, the Mu should probably not exceed 5.  .  Thus, the sticky wicket is 
the kV or so of RF needed to drive the grid.  A suitable tube is the 
3CX3000A1.   1500w-out should be doable on 1.8MHz with around 4kVDC.
