As I understand it, the AL-1200 needs:
an addional cooling fan directed at the bandswitch.  
additional HV bypass (1000pF @ 1.8MHz is not enough)
a glitch R.  
remove the "neutralization" circuit.  Over 35 years ago, Heathkit and 
Gonset unsuccessfully tried "neutralization" of a g-g amplifier.
