[AMPS] Dentron MLA2500 Modification

I'm sure this has been hashed over many times, but I 
just bought an MLA2500 without tubes. Now I need to decide
the best route to go in modifying it for modern tubes.
Any references other than the Svetlana site?  Would
it be better to use a single 3cx800 or a pair of 4cx400's?
