7/16 are becoming the QRO connectors of choice. All around the world
they are displacing all the other connectors of similar size in cellular
installations, and coming on to the surplus market as older
installations are upgraded. They're quite cheap because very few people
want them. You can even get 7/16 adapters for the Bird 43 (from RF
Parts, though those are not cheap).
