Yes, Dave is right. The laundery machine is connected to a 220v outlet. The lower voltage measured is 217 and the highest is 222.

It depends on the configuration of the transformer feed the outlet, either "Y" or "Delta". It is conceivable that a small transfomer could be obtained to perform the conversion and thereby raised the voltage.
