Hi, my FT102 had wafers out of line apparently when I bought it, the
preselect seemed intermittent resulting in a "deaf" receiver and no
transmit, the fault was merely that the shaft coupling was loose causing
massive backlash on the bandswitch.

I guess you need toensure that the bandswitch you are using has the same
number of detent positions as the mechanism and minimal backlash...
