[Amps] rolling your own roller inductors help

Hello,
  I'm imagining this would be a new thread and it is related to QRO balanced antenna couplers.  I now am the proud owner of a kiln capable of firing porcelain.  I have bought some mold making materials.  My wife is from the Philippines and I am planning on getting some simple machine services done there by relatives and sent in the post. 
  I am going to begin mfg'ing my own roller inductors.  The max size of this kiln for firing is 8" X 8" X 6.75".  I guess the porcelain cores for the roller inductors will be a bit short and large in diameter!  I was thinking to use a large diameter wire for lots of power handling capability.  If the porcelain core is not large enough, I'll probably use a switched in inductance in values equal to the max inductance of the roller inductor to get enough.
  My end application will be to begin mfg. balanced antenna couplers.  I've noted that some of the people/companies making the balanced units have poor performance on 10 meters because of the stray inductance of the rollers.  If I use a smaller value roller inductor with switched increments of inductance then I plan on shorting out each section and getting better high frequency reponse/efficiency and also getting away with large diameter wire on the roller inductor itself.
