Imho, an amp built with the proper amount of negative feedback doesn't need alc. I have repaired a number of SB200's and none of them could be driven into flattopping with my IC735. 70 watts in has been the avg for input power.beyond that no more increase in power. Just my opinion !!!! carl / kz5ca
