[Amps] "Solder" to brass?

Hi Guys:

On the subject of soldering, permit me this timely question.

I'm 'restoring' an old brass variable capacitor for use in my 1929 AM rig 
project.

In the process, I broke the flexible lead from the rear stator to the back 
plate.

I'd appreciate suggestions on how I should fix this connection.
