I detect corona with a micro-ampere meter.  How do real high potential 
testers manage to get a microphone inside vacuum capacitors and vacuum 
relays?

However, Peter, the issue at hand is arcing in the Henry 2K Classic X.  
Considering the shape of the conductors involved, the distance and the 
potentials at hand, micalex insulation should not be breaking down.  My 
guess is that the cause of the breakdown was neither a DC or a HF 
potential.
