Instead of designing and testing multiple pi networks then working out
the switching with the plate tank, why not use a simple multi
frequency tuner. One variable cap and one coil, you can peak the drive
to any freq from below 1.6 to above 30Mhz  Gives max drive and no Q
problems. It is another tuning knob, you set it, tune the plate and
then peak the drive. Works fine, lasts a long time.
