If I read the rest of your post correctly, there are actually two 
questions contained in the above.

One is how to increase the output of a stage and the other is how to 
increase the gain of a stage.

In general, to increase the output of a stage while using the same 
components, the most effective way is to increase the collector 
supply voltage and drive it harder. This has limits, of course, 
because if the stage was designed with the components running near 
their max ratings, there isn't much room left.

To increase the gain of a stage, install higher gain transistors and 
remove or change the values of any negative feedback components such 
as emitter resistors. This can easily lead to stability problems 
(parasitic oscillations) so be careful.

Those are pretty broad suggestions. Please post again if you have 
more detailed questions.
