Ken,

In the 70's my business contracted to build dozens of 
3CX3000F7 HF amps. We build a collet to ground the grid ring 
to the chassis.

None of them ever showed any sign of instability and none of 
them used any form of suppressor.

We even built some for pulse applications using custom 
selected tubes running at 12kV, and they were perfectly 
stable also.
