Standard 600V hookup wire with a Teflon sleeve will be a fraction of the 
diameter and a whole lot easier to use.

Test prod wire is another option and you can get that from Mouser, etc.

A problem with using unjacketed coax is that it doesnt like any heat and 
deterioates rapidly over time.
