I can't answer your first question, but I can recommend an excellent
blower. I am using an EBM-Pabst model G2E108-AA05-44 in my 8877 amp
and I highly recommend it. This one is somewhat overkill for an 8877,
but the tube sure runs cool. It is rated at 91 cfm and probably half
that would be sufficient. As to quiet, there is some air noise, but
mechanical vibration is totally lacking. This is the best balanced
blower I have ever seen. You can literally hold it in your hand while
it is running and you can barely feel it. 

They are expensive - about $140 USD - but worth it, IMO.
