[Amps] 3-500Zs Carbon vs Tantalum Plates; Outgassing; Gettering

Folks:
I have a very old but healthy Drake L4B with the gray solid carbon plates, with flutes oriented horizontally. I also have used, more often, the 3-500Z amps with the tantalum plates, with vertical flutes. Do both kinds of 3-500Z have the same kind of gettering, degassing process, in which, by heating the plate (the tantalum plates to show much red color) and less so the carbon plates...you burn off residual or leaked gas contamination inside the envelope?
