[Amps] QSK-5 insertion loss...

"...I'm looking to get some feedback concerning through-line loss of the
 Ameritron QSK-5.  Loss is not specified by Ameritron as a function of
 frequency and after recently measuring loss through my unit, I'm seeing
 approximately 1.5 dB on 10m, and 0.8 dB on 40m.  For those of you using a
 QSK-5, are these typical loss parameters, assuming the PIN diodes are
 being
 fully biased?  The 10m loss is certainly a bit more than I would have
 expected...(etc.)"


My rough math indicates that 1500 watts out and 1 dB loss dissipates what, 
300 watts in the QSK box?? Can't be? My QSK-1500 runs cold. Also, I don't 
see any significant loss on the power meter, but I haven't measured closely.
