All still true but now u need $3.20 or 100 Baht.  However, u will need to speak Thai to explain what u want or transport the helper to ur house to actually look at the fitting, etc.  Language is my problem .... u shudda heard me try to find a ground rod.  Cant draw a picture of a ground rod easily.  

 

There is a five sq block area of BKK with nothing but radio parts and all that go with it....  Gotta walk a lot.... and cant talk, hi hi hi,   73
