What makes you think the amp is/was unstable?
If it wasn't unstable when it was built (and Henry made a LOT of those amps), why would it need any redesign, or mods?
The general concensus on this reflector is don't go looking for trouble.  Read the comments on the SB220 problem in the posts right before yours and see that the guys will tell you often suspected instabilities are due to mistuning, meaning light loading.
