[Amps] WD-40 is not....

WD-40 is not a lubricant. It was invented as a Water Displacement liquid. It has some minor lubricating properties, but lacks both the staying power of real oil and the more complete handling of friction that oil has.

WD-40 is thus an odd product that has, strangely, come to be used, mistakenly, as an oil. It is virtually useless (compared to oil) in normal ham radio applications. Strong advertising and the store's stocking of it along with real oil may explain this factor.

There!
