[Amps] al1200 tuning slugs?

They should all have slugs. Sounds like someone before you screwed the slug out of the coil form. It's probably lying on the bottom of the box.

If the amp was not a one-owner, given it's 10 meters, my guess is it was a CBer trying to get 15000 watts out of it by retuning, good-buddy!

While you're in there, check all the solder joints on the switch. My AL-1200 had input SWR go ballistic when it was 1 year old. Turned out a connection to the switch wafer was NEVER soldered!
