Hi All,

I have an old Emtron DX-1 amp (the original version with the tube mounted horizontally).

During the CQWW contest the other weekend it stopped working, and I was getting the Ig2 blinks fast error indicating that the Plate Voltage (HV) has been lost??

As well as this, both front panel meters have melted a little and compressed the moving coil mechanism to the extent that needle will only travel about 20% of full scale on both meters.. There are no markings on the meters and i'm unsure what to replace them with (and Emtron have not been very helpful in this regard).

Fisrsly can anyone tell me the rating on these two meters (they both look identical), and point me in the direction of a potential source.

Secondly, regarding the amp failure can anyone point me in the direction of what could have caused the No Plate Voltage error.

I have replaced the GU74B tube to no effect. Also suspecting the HV supply I have checked the HV board of the amp and cannot find any obvious issues, but I do not have any HV test equipment to check to see whether the Plate Voltage is indeed missing..

Thanks

David, VK2NU
