[Amps] Voltage Doubler Regulation

Regualation really became an issue when we went to sold state rectifiers.
This allowed hams to go to capacitive input filters and get rid of the filter inductors that
improved load regulaton . Remember the swinging chokes?
They actually did provide some load regulation.
The good thing is that the power supplies are much lighter than then at the cost
of regulation and power factor.

Many more variables need to be taken into account. Voltage regulation in
a doubler circuit will always be poorer than in a similar full-wave
bridge, and the series resistance of the transformer windings becomes a
critical factor.
