your right Carl i did cook the tube. last night the voices stoped HI. i have never been able to get the operating values that yu1aw states on his diagrams. 

i am somewhat a novice builder as you all can see. i have orderd a new tube and will try again. maybe i need to change the design i am trying to use. not sure.

thanks for the input guys. i am sure if no one minds i will be back once the new tube gets here.
