You really don't have to spend ..."a million"... to get a scope to do
the job. You
can find a TEKTRONIX 7904A or even the exotic 7104 over on the evil empire
that will show a single-shot pulse with sub-picosecond rise times.
Just make sure
you get the proper Vertical and Time Base plug-ins for it.
