[Amps] Length of coax from xcvr to amp affecting input swr.

Could it be the tuned input circuit in the amp you are driving
just does not have enough range to bring it into a perfect match
with your driver? The mismatch may be more noticeable the
longer the length of coax between the xcvr and amp.

You could try using a regular transmatch or antenna tuner
between your rig and the coax going to the amplifier input and simply
tune that for a flat SWR to keep your xcvr output happy.

After all a "tuned input" built into an amplifier is nothing more
than a small transmatch with small slug-tuned coils that can
be optimized or "tuned" broadly for each band. Nothing wrong with
using an outboard transmatch and tune it for the band you are
operating on.

Also I would be sure to use the best quality coax with double
shield between the xcvr and amp input.
