First liar has no chance in this group! I was going to tell my story of  
using a 10 penny nail heated on my mothers gas stove for a soldering iron but  
that just seems too tame!

You had solder?  We had  to go through the trash and find discarded 
toothpaste containers and use  the lead in them or melt the solder in 
discarded tin  cans.
