[Amps] conductive grease for roller inductor

MY understanding is the rotor coils were designed to be sacrificial ...
clean the contactors, shaft bushing, clean the coil and use it up.  

Placing grease on the coil may do no harm but if the grease is built-up
sufficiently it may get burnt-up at a high current tap points... 

I've been using a Hallicrafter BC-393A coupler, yeah over 45 yrs old...
still has some silver on the copper coil.  Works fine... never greased it.
One issue with gease is that it will attract dirt and tiny bugs that find
their way inside the unit...those items will not improve performance!

The coupler will handle the legal limit all day long... saw one for sale in
2008 for $400.  Don't know if it sold... its no Alpha 4040 ;-)
