A little trick I use at work with that brand of label maker is to curve the
label along its width, concave toward the sticker, It causes the split down
the length of the label paper to pop open and stand up away from the
sticker. Older sticker cartridges may not have the split in the paper, but
the same technique, forced to a side edge, helps find that fine plastic lip
they leave for peeling off the sticker.
