[Amps] The option of power

Sad but true.  It's a heck of a lot more relaxing to talk to someone running at least 500 watts on the other end.
The  bands have also been going long very early in the evening this winter, and QSB has been a challenge
even with a kilowatt and a beam.

No matter how good your antenna system, at some point you will have maxed out what you can do at your
QTH.  For some, that will be a wire up 35 feet.  For others, it will be a couple of towers with stacked beams.
Most of us fall somewhere in the middle.

Once you reach that point, more power is your best bet for station improvement.  And a kilowatt amp can
be a heck of a lot less expensive than a serious 50 ft tower with full-size tribander and rotor.
