[Amps] Non metallic paint for plywood ?

Ditto: I have used teflon cutting boards trimmed accordingly as a laminate
over plywood.

How about using a piece of 1/4" or so thick piece of plastic on top of the
plywood under the choke? Then you wouldn't have to worry about the paint.

1/4-20 acorn  nuts  facing  each  other.
