[Amps] Non metallic paint for plywood ?

I would use a water thin coating of spar varnish or glyptal (sp) to seal the wood.

How about using a piece of 1/4" or so thick piece of plastic on top of the plywood under the choke? Then you wouldn't have to worry about the paint.
