China.  No one has the glass machines (Sealex or whatever they're
called now) in the US.  But I have a good source who told me
Richardson makes the 4PR1000 elements here, and ships them to China to
be used in the bulbs.  I find that interesting because I have no idea
who is still using the 4PR1000 who would pay for a new one.  So I
advise some scepticism on this.

I think the 3-400 is a more rugged tube, but this is good news to all
the 3-500 amplifier owners.  They're also good as modulators and the
Power Pebble uses them.
