WRTC2002 REFEREE SELECTION UNDER WAY

The WRTC2002 Organizing Committee is pleased to make
an announcement of several nominations for the referee function
associated with the upcoming event in Finland in July of next year.

Olli Rissanen, OA4DMR (OH0XX) together with Roger Western,
G3SXW will be managing the WRTC2002 referee function. In
the interim, Ari Korhonen, OH1EH will assist the referee community
by providing preliminary information needed for the selected referees
to be able to proceed with their personal planning.

The first twenty-five referees were selected, and they represent the
first wave out of a total of fifty (50) on-site referees, one at each participating
site. The underlying reasons are practical - such as the organizers' desire
to have the balance of Finnish (OH) referees nominated concurrently
with the foreign ones. Here the fact is that few applications have so far
been received from OH-land, while the  local language capability is required
in several site situations.

We are now pleased to welcome the following veteran contesters and
WRTC experts to join in the worldwide fun at WRTC2002:

The second wave will be launched January 30, 2002 and the third by
