PK-232 fix. Is it worth it?

Hi all,
I have a old pk-232 with the MBX upgrade and it tears the front end of my
Kenwood to pieces. It is second hand, and the previous owner did the upgrade.
Apparently the early 232's had a problem with RF generated at the op-amps.
A call to AEA and a search through the local mods database confirmed that the
reccomended procedure to to put 10 mF caps across pins 4 & 11, with an option
of putting in a 10 mH inductor in the main power trace.
Is the risk of burning out the EEproms and op amps worth it? Should I sell
it to a ham who does not work with weak signals like we DX'ers and contesters
do? Are there any suggestions on the above fix?
Any comments would be most appreciated. 73 es gud DX,
