I did not hear the final QSL from a ZS6 on 6 meters I worked in 1979. He
sent me a QSL card direct. Sadly, I had to report "not in log", because I
did not log it. Now if I had written the QSO in the log with a note, and
then received a QSL card in the mail, that would have served as final
confirmation.
I tend not to log contacts when I do not hear the final QSL. If the penalty
was simply to lose the QSO for a busted callsign/busted report/not in log,
I'd probably leave them in. Especially if the DX station sends in *his*
log, and I'm in it. Much like the scenario with the ZS6 above.
