I posted this a while ago but I'll give one last call...

The September VHF Contest is only a few days away (9/10 - 9/12.)
Once again I will find myself holding down 2M at W0UC - EN44.

If anyone is interested in setting up meteor skeds, l-o-n-g distance tropo
skeds or whatever, please let me know. I'll do SSB or fast CW (or even
slow!) and am pretty much open for any time. I might note, however, that of
11 skeds I ran in June (MS) , the three I completed were all between 1000Z
and 1200Z.

I prefer to keep the skeds to 15 minutes to allow the chance to work as many
dudes as possible (and you don't waste a lot of time if nothing is
happening.)

On 2M we have 2 x 17 el @ 70' and 450W (might have the KW working again)

I will take skeds for other bands as well and pass them on to the operator of
that band.

If interested please E-mail me at << n0bsh at aol.com >>

The phone # at our contest site is (715) 877-2080.

Dave,

And from those of us who are looking for you, thanks for being out there!
The way some people are talking, this event may have rekindled the fire of
stateside to stateside QSO's. I don't know this to be true myself, because
I've only been licensed since March, and I'll still talk to anybody that will
listen. ;^)

Anyway, thanks. You were my #26.

I discovered the secret.

It all hinges on finding the right woman. I think I did.

I also enhanced her appreciation of contesting by winning the Bermuda Contest
the year we got married, and used the trip to Bermuda as part of our
honeymoon.

It also helped that her sister married K1AR. During contest weekends, they
commiserate on the phone while John and I are somewhere crashing the pileups.

For those of you still searching for the right woman, I regret to report that
the third sister is, alas, no longer available. She married a non-ham...

Subject: 4 Element 15 Yagi design
Message-ID: <85940906045458/0006492564PK4EM at MCIMAIL.COM>

It is time to put up something for 15 meters.....other than the low
tribander on the lil tower.

We have a TIC Ringrotor at abouts the 100 foot mark, and a very nice piece
of 3" Telrex boom abouts 29 foot long.

In playing with Yagimax over the holiday weekend it seems that I cannot
improve (using this boomlength) upon a 4 element wide spaced design, by
going to a 5 element design...although I see several manufacturers offer a 5
element on about this length boom. Is it just that they are selling more
(elements) is better or am I doing something wrong with my modeling? I
imagine you feel you must be louder if you have a fiver compared to his four
element yagi, right? I actually prefer the 4 element as the "middle"
element (1st dir) on the five element would be right at the ring wheras on
the four element the driven is convienently a coupla foot out from the
tower.

Has anyone been down this avenue...I know from Lawson that a .75 wvlgth boom
(prox 35 ft) would be the best but I am coming up a lil short.

Should we invest in a 6 ft piece of 3" and explore 5 or 6 element designs or
settle for a wide spaced 4.......if you have debated this query lemme know
your solution! Oh yeah, truning radius starts getting tight now.

So many choices....so little time-SS CW is in 2 Months and CQWW
too....stress....what to do..............HALP!
