Jc> It's rotator.
Jc> A device that escalates (people) is an escalator.
Jc> A person who perpetrates (a crime) is a perpetrator.
Jc> Thus, if it turns something else it is a rotator;
Jc> if it, itself, turns, it is a rotor.
Jc> (The CDE manuals were written by either
Jc> engineers or tech writers, neither of which
Jc> am I!)
Jc> End of thread!
Oh yeah? Well, ROTOR can also be a contraction of ROTATOR.
So the engineers WERE right, eh? ;-)

K1VR comments:
In my former life, I erected about 15 towers of Rohn 25
or 45 for my little cable TV company. I came to learn that
there are Preformed grips designed for 1/4" EHS, and
Preformed grips for 7 strand 3/8" non-EHS, etc. Note that
Preformed is the name of a company, and not an adjective.
But the dirty little secret I learned was that there
are utility company and cable TV distributors selling
Taiwanese and Korean made knock-offs of the Preformed
products which are not made as well. Be sure you are
getting the real Preformed (tm) product. As these grips are
not always well labelled, ya gotta be sure.

REPLIES on how to carry a beam to the island:
1. Cut longer beam elements to length and splice for reassembly.
2. Over-sized ski bag.
3. Carpet tubes.
4. Homemade PVC carry luggage
5. Cushcraft A3 DX version
6. Force 12 DX model
I did check the ski bag option here and found the bag on sale at $150.
It was a bit short of 8' and hence I'm checking out the PVC bag option now.
Force 12 has promised to FAX info on their beam & of course cutting the
existing beam will depend on call to AA. Thanks for the great replies:
sending those to FOX for the WWW site.
