The thing that just KILLS me with this whole thread is that the West coast
boys all complain that we have an unfair advantage on the east coast. Now
for a short drive into Mexico you have the advantage on US!!!! The playing
field gets leveled and still no joy in Mudville.
For what it is worth I am saving my pennys everyday to take a DXpedition
someplace warm next winter 1 to do a contest and 2 cause my wife looks good
in a bikini. I checked with the FRC treasurer and asked him what I should do
with my expense report and he said............. Oh yeah this goes out over
TCPIP packet too right so I better not tell you what he said.

It's so good to hear from you again! It was only yesterday that I was
wondering if something was wrong, since I had received no bafoonery since
late Monday or Tuesday evening. I was about ready to cancel my order for
contest dinner tickets, since Palmer (son/N9JRZ) and I absolutely refuse
to give our tickets to any other ticket-taker but you. Of course, we
realize that you were trained and operate under the supervision and
watchful eye of the famed Green Hornet. You seem to have an air (FHG)
about you. Perhaps it is your salty (anchovie paste!) wit!?! At any
rate, it sounds like you are ready to cut-loose (no pun intended) in the
operating chair, or at least what's left of it. (I understand that Fish
Head Gas destroys springs and other metal parts in swivel chairs.)

I like your spot!!! I had contemplated doing something really different
this year...something that would attract lots of action from prefix
wannabees: I was considering getting in my car and operating mobile as
AA9AX Portable /AA9 !!! Whaddayathink!
I figure that would be good for an extra, say....400-500 Q's!!! Don't
tell anyone about my idea, though: I want to spring it on the entire
contest community ala a new secret weapon-type thing like KM9P, WN4KKN,
or someone like that may invent!

Each year I call you in the WPX, but since we stop and gab for a while as
everyone else gets agitated waiting, I don't log the Q because it doesn't
seam like a contest thing. It's more of a radio social outing. That's
why I have returned your QSL each year without a confirmation. But I
want to go on record as swearing that I have not stolen the stamp off
your SASE's. It's just kind of like they "fall off". The Post Office
must be using some inferior glue, because it looks like it's really
thin-as if it's been in a humidifier or a steam jenny.

And I thought it was the hint I dropped to the Green Hornet that brought
about the elongated contest period. I told him that I don't get to spend
much time on the air, but when I do get the chance-I often found that the
contest had ended before I was able to make my social QSO with Dr. Bafoofnik.
I figured that the Hornet had made arrangements to extend the contest
period so I could interrupt your pile-up at my convenience. The only
problem I usually have when I hear you is being quick-enuf on the key or
DVP to edge-in between your robotic/automated endless cq's. Do you
remember the time your antennas blew down and all you had was 160 meters
and you called "Beam Me Up, Scotty" in CW all nite rather than "CQ"? I
thought that was really cute. And the neatest thing was that it didn't
slow down your rate one bit. You still ended up with 1565 Q's and NO
mults (prefixes) for a score of ZERO (again). I swear, I just don't see
how you can do it!

I still am not certain of your real identity. Palmer and I will meet you
for dinner again Friday Nite at Dayton (This year maybe KN8Z can get
there on time and in good health so we can a overeat and I can catch up
on the Miller Lites I have been missing on this diet for 3 months!!!
I think I'll put a private dick on the case...perhaps that sharp young
sleuth-KA9FOX.
Bye the way, do you remember the subscribe address to N0AX's new Skoch
tape and tie reflector? It sounds a lot more interesting than some of
the stuff we have to read on here! Don't you agree?
Talk to you soon, Foofie, and remember to bring the Valentines Day candy
I sent you. We can share a bite at Dayton as you tell me about your
stamp collection.
YOUR humble servant...
